Patrice Evra Sends Warning To Manchester United Players After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Sacking

Posting on Instagram, Manchester United legend Patrice Evra thanked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for "making us believe again" in the Red Devils.

Patrice Evra has paid tribute to former teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after he was sacked -- but has issued a warning to the current Manchester United players.

Solskjaer was dismissed from the Old Trafford hot seat after watching Watford thrash 10-men United 4-1 at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

The 48-year-old United legend was initially appointed caretaker manager in December 2018 after the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

United saw a turn of fortunes under Solskjaer in the second half of the 2018-19 season, including a famous second-leg win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Solskjaer, who was appointed United manager permanently in March 2019, led the Red Devils to second place in the Premier League last season.

However, the Norwegian leaves Old Trafford without lifting a major piece of silverware as United manager, with the Red Devils falling short in last season’s Europa League final.

Evra took to Instagram on Sunday and thanked Solskjaer for “making us believe again” in United.

However, the United legend warned that he is “coming” for the current Red Devils players.

“Thank you, my friend, for making us believe again in [Manchester United],” Evra wrote to his 8.7m followers.

“Unfortunately, when you don’t get the results, people forget what you done for this club but to all the players I’m coming for you now. See you against Arsenal…”

United languish in seventh place after Saturday’s defeat and trail fourth-place West Ham by six points in the league table.

The Red Devils confirmed in a club statement that Solskjaer had left Old Trafford after his side’s disappointing results this season.

“Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision,” reads the statement.

“While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.

“Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as manager and our very best wishes for the future.”

United revealed that first-team coach Michael Carrick will oversee the team following Solskjaer’s dismissal.

The Premier League club confirmed they will seek to appoint an interim manager who will lead United to the end of the season.

United will face Villarreal on Tuesday in the Champions League before a showdown with Premier League leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
