It's been far from the dream maiden voyage for Trevor Lawrence, Urban Meyer and the new-era Jacksonville Jaguars.

The first-year Jaguars tandem has been troubled both on and off the field. Lawrence, who has long been touted as a generational quarterback prospect for years, has largely underperformed in his rookie season.

According to the latest report from CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, these early struggles from Lawrence have caused some contentious internal discussions from within the coaching staff. Meyer, who's been far from issue-free himself this season, has reportedly been expressive in his “displeasure” with some of the members of his Jaguars coaching staff.

“There has been tension and turmoil within this staff since the offseason, with Meyer repeatedly making his displeasure with many position coaches known — often in front of players. Sources said it is inevitable that changes are coming to this Jaguars staff next season, with running backs coach Bernie Parmalee and receivers coach Sanjay Lal often on the receiving end of Meyer's diatribes, and any concerns with Lawrence's development could prove problematic for quarterback coach Brian Schottenheimer as well.

The conflict is mainly contingent on the improvement of both Trevor Lawrence and the on-field product as a whole. There's still a lot of football left and time to turn things around, but as of now the situation is looking dire in Jacksonville.
