The Pittsburgh Steelers had an embarrassing tie in Week 10 vs. the Lions.

I by no means think the Steelers should be overwhelming favorites going into Week 11. The Chargers have the better quarterback by a mile in this game. However, I do think the game should be closer than a lot of people are expecting it to be.

Only 2 of our writers are predicting a Steelers victory in this one. There is a lot of uncertainty in regards to who will be dressing in black and gold for this matchup. As we saw in Week 10, one positive Covid test derailed our writer’s predictions.

With that being said the Chargers are still fielding a young quarterback playing against a defensive scheme he hasn’t seen before. Moreover, the running attack for the Chargers isn’t as strong as some of Pittsburgh’s recent opponents. With that being said let’s see who we’re taking and why.

Still Curtain’s 2021 records:

Kody Duncan: 6-2

Andrew Falce: 3-6

Eric Hassel: 4-5

Tommy Jaggi: 5-4

Brandon Kring: 5-4

Ryan Pawloski: 5-4

Casey Sadekoski: 6-3

Week 11 Predictions vs Chargers

Kody Duncan: The Steelers have a lot of injuries this week on top of Big Ben possibly not being cleared from protocol. This will not lead to a good weekend for Steelers fans. (LA 24-13)

Andrew Falce: The Steelers are extremely banged up, and despite them getting a struggling Chargers team, the matchups just aren’t there. Najee does his best, but the Steelers still come up short (LA 24-13)

Eric Hassel: With all the uncertainty surrounding the availability of some key players, the Steelers seem listless to open the game, but as the game continues to unfold, the Steelers find a rhythm. In what proves to be a close game, Chris Boswell kicks the game-winning FG. (Pit 24-21)

Tommy Jaggi: The Steelers statistically haven’t been good under Mike Tomlin when facing road opponents on the west coast. Combine this with the fact that Pittsburgh will be without a few of their top players due to injuries and COVID-19 this week, and this is a game that will be incredibly daunting for Pittsburgh. I think this team could do enough to just keep things interesting against the Chargers, but it’s going to be hard to contain QB Justin Herbert with the Steelers’ current defensive state. (LA 28-21)

Brandon Kring: The Steelers’ offense was awful against Detroit and they are going up against a much better Chargers team. They can’t stop the run and could be without multiple key pieces on both sides of the ball. This will get ugly on national TV. (LA 30-17)

Ryan Pawloski: This is just going to be a tough matchup for the away team considering how many starters will be out of the lineup. It should be close at some points throughout the game but the Chargers will pull away late. (LA 28-17)

Casey Sadekoski: The Steelers are injured and the Chargers are explosive. Yet, LA is 1-5 in games they are held under 30 points. When Herbert isn’t comfortable he implodes. If Keith Butler does what he does best and keeps pressure on the young quarterback Pittsburgh will make the young QB look a lot worse than he is. (Pit 20-17)
