Xiaomi is set to debut not one, but two premium phones aimed at lovers of smaller-sized devices. The Xiaomi 12X will feature a Snapdragon 870 and looks set to be joined by an identical phone, possibly the Xiaomi 12X Pro, equipped with Qualcomm's upcoming flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Over the past week, multiple reports have indicated Xiaomi's plans to launch a smaller premium device in the Xiaomi 12 series. That device looks to be the Xiaomi 12X, but it appears it won't be the only device like that in the lineup.

According to a new report, Xiaomi has two such devices in the works. The first is the already revealed Xiaomi 12X which will be powered by the Snapdragon 870. The second, supposedly, is grander. Reputedly, the second device, which looks likely to be the Xiaomi 12X Pro, will feature Qualcomm's upcoming flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. For those not in the know, that will be the successor to the Snapdragon 888.

The source doesn't provide more details on this device, other than it will similarly sport a 6.3-inch display. The display in question will be a 120 HZ curved panel made by Huaxing. Both models will feature the same display. Considering the more powerful chipset, it's likely that the Xiaomi 12X Pro, or whatever it ends up being named, could feature a more impressive camera setup as well. That's just speculation, however.
