Fargo Davies boys hockey team opens season with shutout win

A second period goal is all the Eagles needed to open the 2021-22 season with a win over Fargo Shanley on Saturday.

FARGO — Fargo Davies held a substantial edge in shots on goal but the Eagles got the only one they needed to find the net in a 1-0 win over Fargo Shanley on Saturday at Farmers Union Insurance Center.

Davies' Cam Bullinger scored at 15:10 of the second period on an assist from Barron Stibbe. Davies held a 30-17 advantage in shots on goal and Eagles goalie Trent Wiemke made the goal stand, making 17 saves.

Shanley goalie Noel Olsonawski turned back 29 of 30 shots.
