The Ford Mustang is one of the Blue Oval's last-remaining performance cars in the US. Until recently, Australia's Ford Performance Vehicles division also sold the four-door Falcon sports sedan as an alternative. It was last sold in America back in 1970 but the nameplate lived on in Australia until 2016 when the last Falcon rolled off the production line. If it remained in production in the US, it would have been a worthy rival to the Chevrolet SS.

To mark the end of production, Ford Australia built a limited-edition model called the XR8 Sprint. Production was limited to just 750 examples, and now the last ever Falcon XR8 is up for sale.

Listed for sale by Australian Muscle Car Sales, what makes this particular 2016 Ford Falcon XR8 so special is that it's one of only 100 examples that were upgraded to "Holy Grail" spec by Premcar to unleash its full performance potential. As standard, the XR6 Sprint produces up to 536 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque with overboost from a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, but Premcar boosted the output to 647 hp and 555 lb-ft to create the ultimate Ford sleeper sedan. Paired with the V8 is a six-speed automatic transmission. It also featured in Motor Magazine and served as Premcar's showcar.

To achieve this colossal power boost, Premcar installed a new cast aluminum intake manifold, triple-pass intercooler system, twin air triple water pass intercooler, and an isolated front mount air-to-water heat exchanger. Other upgrades include a recalibrated ECU, high-performance steering pump, and a stainless-steel performance exhaust system.

The last-ever Ford Falcon XR8 is finished in Kinetic Blue and rides on 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Since it only has 55 miles on the odometer, the seller will only accept offers over $160,000 AUS ($117,068) for the limited-edition sports sedan.
