Jonathan Rhys Meyers in Hide and Seek

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is one of the hardest workers in the industry right now. With every new film, he continues to elevate his acting chops with more challenging characters. In the Korean remake thriller Hide and Seek, he plays a psychologically struggling man seeking to share his fortune with a missing brother. Due to his extreme guilt, he fails to abandon his search despite a more nefarious plot uncovered regarding his brother’s whereabouts.

The film also stars Jacinda Barrett (Poseidon, Ladder 49), Sue Jean Kim (Bachelorette, First Reformed), Mustafa Shakir (Brawl in Cell Block 99, Luke Cage), and Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix, Bad Boys). Joel David Moore (Youth in Oregon) directed and wrote the screenplay based on the South Korean motion picture Hide and Seek by Jung Huh.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers on the psychological struggles of his character in the film. We talked about his acting motivations and tackling so many challenging projects at this point in his career.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is known for his roles in films such as Michael Collins, Velvet Goldmine, Titus, Bend It Like Beckham, Alexander, Match Point, and Mission: Impossible III. His notable television roles, included Elvis Presley in the biographic miniseries Elvis, King Henry VIII in The Tudors, the title character in Dracula, and Bishop Heahmund in Vikings. He is a notable musician and had been the face of several Hugo Boss advertising campaigns.

Hide and Seek is currently playing in select theaters, On Demand, and available digitally today.
