Tottenham Hotspur wants to continue improving their defense following a summer where they added Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal to their squad.

Spurs are eyeing one name to add to their new group, Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij, who played under manager Antonio Conte.

Nonetheless, the north London-based club isn’t alone in their interest for the Netherlands international. According to a 90Min report, Everton FC also has the hope of landing the 29-year-old whose contract expires in 2023.

When it comes to the possible asking price, the report doesn’t detail what fee Inter Milan will want if they cannot reach a contract extension with the central defender.

Although other clubs are eyeing de Vrij, Tottenham does seem to be the favorite as the defender would likely welcome a reunion with his former manager.

Furthermore, Spurs might want to have a veteran defender anchor their backline of three and not put the entire responsibility of Romero.
