Cloud9 fans have had a rollercoaster of an offseason. From losing Perkz and Vulcan, to potentially welcoming back Nisqy or Jensen – Cloud9 fans had no idea what to expect from owner Jack Etienne this time around. As reports rolled in, it became increasingly likely that C9 would be looking back towards the LCK for players. Then on Saturday November 20, Cloud9 finally revealed their plans for the 2022 year.
Our offseason is finally over.

For the upcoming season, Cloud9 opted to completely shake up their roster. Longtime Cloud9 fans weren’t sure how to react when the first rumors came to light about Fudge potentially roleswapping. Luckily for C9, their newest player in the top lane is a player that has displayed their incredible talent in the LCK. Filling in Fudge’s shoes will be Liiv SANDBOX’s Summit. While Liiv SANDBOX struggled as a team, Summit was the clear star on the roster.
Also joining the team will be two young players in Berserker and Winsome. Berserker, coming over from T1 Challengers, will server as the teams latest AD carry. Alongside Berserker will be former Shadow Battlica support Winsome, a player that many people have only learned about from recent reports about Cloud9’s interest in signing him. Waiting on the wings will be Cloud9 Academy’s Isles. Isles impressed audiences playing with K1ng, and now he will have a chance to battle for the starting LCS spot.

There are a whole handful of question marks surrounding Cloud9’s latest roster. However after struggling to live up to their own potential in 2021, a massive shake up seems to be appropriate heading into the new year. Cloud9 have yet to announce a new head coach, and fans will wait with baited breath until they see who will lead the brand new LCS roster.
