'Accidental discharge' of gun disrupts flights at Atlanta airport

ATLANTA (SBG) — Departing flights were temporarily stopped at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Saturday after a gun was "accidentally discharged" in the security screening area, officials said.

In a tweet, the airport said there was no danger to employees or passengers at the start of a busy travel week for the Thanksgiving holiday.
"There is not an active shooter," the tweet says. "There was an accidental discharge at the Airport. There is no danger to passengers or employees. An investigation is ongoing."
Atlanta police are investigating to determine what happened.

All departing flights were temporarily stopped, but have since resumed.
