GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Speaking to the media following the Detroit Red Wings' 5-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, coach Jeff Blashill made it clear that his team needs to clean up their play on the ice.
"We made some mistakes and when we made them, they ended up in our net," Blashill said. "We gotta get our structure back, we got to get our habits back, specifically in the D-zone coverage and track."
After three straight losses, quickly returning to form would be refreshing to the Red Wings dressing room and the fanbase before three days off. But most importantly, it needs to happen away from Little Caesars Arena.

Through 19 games, Detroit (8-9-2) boasts a 5-2-2 mark at home, but is 3-7-0 record on the road. The Red Wings have scored 27 goals and surrendered just 23 at home. However, the road show tells a different story, as Detroit has scored 26 goals but allowed 42.
"We have to be better defensively," Red Wings center Sam Gagner said after the loss to the Golden Knights. "It comes down to executing with our puck touches in our own zone and making sure that we are clean there."

On Saturday, the Red Wings will look to snap their three-game losing streak and finish the road trip on a positive note against the Arizona Coyotes (2-13-2). Puck drop from Gila River Arena is set for 8 p.m., with broadcast coverage on Bally Sports Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network.
Arizona heads into Saturday's matchup with a league-low six points and a 2-13-2 record, but has earned three points in the past two games, the most points in back-to-back contests this season. The Coyotes recorded a road win (3-2) at St. Louis on Tuesday, before taking Columbus to a shootout and earning a point on Thursday.
The Coyotes have yet to find their offensive groove under coach first-year coach André Tourigny, especially as of late. Over its last 10 contests, Arizona has averaged just 1.8 goals, three assists and 5.3 penalties per game.
Shayne Gostisbehere leads the way with 13 points on two goals and 11 assists, while Lawson Crouse has scored a team-high five goals, contributing to nine points. Three goalies have seen action, with Karel Vejmelka appearing in 12 games with 10 starts.
Saturday's game will be the first of two meetings between Detroit and Arizona this season.
