Lee Corso has made it crystal clear that the Cincinnati Bearcats don’t belong in the College Football Playoff.

The Bearcats are currently 10-0 and ranked No. 5 in the Playoff rankings. They host SMU on Saturday before traveling to East Carolina on Nov. 27, with a win against the Mustangs clinching their place in the AAC Championship Game against Houston. Bearcats fans and the rest of the country, though, are well aware that a loss will eliminate Luke Fickell’s team from Playoff contention.

Corso feels that they shouldn’t even be in Playoff contention in the first place, though.

“Cincinnati does not belong ranked in the top group. I don’t care if they win out or not,” he said on Saturday. “They’ve played 2 Power 5 teams. One of them is Indiana with a 2-8 record. Cincinnati should accept a New Year’s Day bowl, period.”

Corso’s comments understandably drew the ire of fans across the country. Here’s some of the reaction from social media as Corso was called out for his thoughts:
