A 24-year-old woman was shot to death in Windsor Mills near a Burger King on Friday afternoon, police said, extending an increase of violence in Baltimore County.

Baltimore County Police arrived at 1600 block of Belmont Avenue around 3:00 p.m. after reports of a shooting and discovered a 24-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Medics were summoned and transported the woman to a local hospital, where she died a short time later.

Homicide detectives are urging anyone with information about the shooting to call detectives at 410-307-2020 or dial 911.
