Saquon Barkley refuses to play as the Giants in Madden

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley revealed on Friday that he has a very interesting way of playing Madden.

First and foremost, Barkley tanks his team, cleans house and then rebuilds from the bottom up.

“I made like a franchise mode and make the team suck and get rid of all the star players and get my own draft pick,” Barkley told reporters. “I just do like a whole big rebuild.”

But it’s not the Giants who Barkley tanks. He’s not getting rid of his teammates and friends — or even himself. Rather, the superstar running back takes control of other teams, buries them and then brings them back to life.

Why not the Giants?

“I don’t play with Giants because it’s too close to home. Say if I’m playing a game and if I fumble the ball, I’ve got to take myself out of the game. It’s too weird for me, so I stay away from the Giants,” Barkley said with a smile.

Everyone’s Madden experience is unique and Barkley is no exception. The only question remaining is which franchise he controls and how he’s doing. Perhaps we’ll get that answer another time.
