Photos of College & Community Conversations at Roanoke-Chowan Community College

The annual College & Community Conversations event was held November 17th and brought many local leaders, trustees, and business and industry executives to campus.

Presentations from President Murray J. Williams, faculty, and students updated the audience about college news and information. A luncheon was held after the presentations and visitors were entertained by the local Hertford County High School Drum Corps.

Dr. Williams delivered a presentation of exciting news from the college sharing that our college has the highest percentage of overall enrollment increase among the community colleges in the state of a 53% overall increase since last year. She told the audience R-CCC has an economic impact for the community of 41.1M and that since 2017, the college has conferred over 400 associate degrees, provided short-term training for 14,000 individuals, and assisted to start 10 small businesses through the Small Business Center.

Dr. Williams hosted local dignitaries including college trustees and Hertford County Commissioners.

Students presented their educational experiences and served as tour guides for tours of the campus.

Hertford County Drum Corps entertained the visitors and students on campus for the event.

Nursing and Emergency Medical Services instructors demonstrated medical equipment used in allied health training to the visitors on the campus tour.
