Denon has announced the AH-C630W and AH-C830NCW, two pairs of true wireless earbuds. One has active noise cancellation and the other does not, which explains their US$60 price difference.

Denon has decided to enter the true-wireless earbuds market, a market that Sennheiser left because it had entered too late. Nonetheless, Denon considers now is as good a time as any to release the AH-C830NCW and AH-C630W, which retail for US$99 and US$159, respectively.

As their name suggests, the AH-C830NCW supports active-noise cancellation (ANC), while the AH-C630W does not. The former also has 11 x 10 mm drivers and two microphones per earbud to minimise background noise. Alternatively, the earbuds can use their microphones to bring in background noise, which Denon calls a transparency mode.

Additionally, Denon has integrated beamforming functionality to maximise voice quality during calls. The AH-C830NCW contains a sensor that can detect when you remove the earbuds from your earbuds too. Denon claims that the earbuds should last up to 6 hours on a single charge, or under 5 hours with ANC enabled.

By contrast, the AH-C630W has 10 mm drivers and none of the other advanced technology that its sibling utilises. The earbuds are IPX4 certified though, matching the AH-C830NCW. However, the AH-C630W has even shorter battery life than the AH-C830NCW at 4:30 hours.

Both models are available in black and white. Denon applies a glossy finish with silver accents to its more expensive model though, with the AH-C630W finished in a matte look instead.
