LG has announced that select LG Smart TVs will integrate NVIDIA's GeForce NOW. Gamers can download the streaming service from LG's WebOS in the coming days. The app will launch in beta, but LG asserts that its TVs will maximize the full potential of NVIDIA's technologies.

LG Electronics has announced that the company is teaming up with the NVIDIA Corporation to build a Smart TV app of GeForce NOW. LG TVs will be the first on the market that implement NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service. Gamers can expect the streaming service on certain 2021 LG 4K OLED, QNED Mini LED and NanoCell TV displays.

LG claims that its premium displays are ideal for the streaming service due to excellent colour accuracies and high refresh rates as well as big screen sizes. Gamers can stream and play over 35 free-to-play games at up to 1080p/60fps if their internet service is fast enough. Only a Bluetooth controller is required and no other installation is needed. Priority members can also enjoy the benefits of raytracing and DLSS for a high-fidelity gaming experience.

Furthermore, LG argues that its high-end OLED TVs showcase vivid colours and perfect blacks to take full advantage of today’s ultra-realistic video game graphics. Gamers can also appreciate smooth gameplay via the 1ms response time and low input lag that LG Smart TVs feature.

GeForce NOW will launch in beta and be available to download from WebOS in the coming days. Gamers can subscribe for the priority tier of the gaming service for US$50 every six months or play a free 1-hour session daily.

While not currently available in LG TVs, NVIDIA also offers a premium tier of GeForce NOW for US$100 every six months, which enables up to 1440p/120fps streaming via virtual systems running on RTX 3080s and AMD Threadrippers. NVIDIA’s SHIELD TV Pro also supports 4K HDR streaming.
