Fresh reports claim that contract negotiations between Man United and Jesse Lingard have hit a stalemate, with the club apparently willing to let him go on loan in January. That being said, Lingard took to Instagram on Friday and hinted at a possible West Ham reunion with this post:

Before coming back to Man United this season, the Englishman enjoyed a fantastic spell at the London Stadium in the second half of last term, bagging nine goals and tallying five assists in 16 matches for the Hammers. He added a massive spark to their attack and even helped David Moyes' side qualify for the Europa League. The club was keen on signing him on a full-time basis, but the Red Devils were adamant on Lingard returning to Old Trafford.

Things haven't exactly gone to plan for him, though. He's fallen out of favor under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, making just five Premier League appearances. Man United was trying to get Lingard to sign a new deal before he becomes a free agent next summer, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen at this point.

Lingard returning to West Ham in the new year would be delightful. They're flying high right now, sitting third in the table and only three points off league leaders Chelsea. While their attack is having no problem scoring goals, we already know what Lingard is capable of alongside the likes of Michail Antonio, Pablo Fornals, and Jarrod Bowen. It's a match made in heaven. Man United is evidently not the place for Jesse Lingard and what better place to be than a club where he enjoyed the utmost success in a small period.
