The move means Thomas won't be selected in the upcoming Rule 5 draft. He could still get the chance to make his big-league debut in 2022, as he's already 27 years old and hit a strong .289/.363/.665 with 18 homers in 59 games Triple-A Las Vegas last season while spending time at all three outfield positions.
