With the international window closed, the Premier League is back with another full slate of games. We are entering the time of year where the schedules become grueling, and teams begin to recognize the depth of their rosters. Those with thinner teams will be forced to rotate less, giving others the upper hand. We should start to see teams separate themselves at the top of the table, demonstrating why it’s important to buy during the transfer windows.

While we will have action on a few more games on this matchday, we are going back to the Manchester City vs Everton match to discuss a prop that has been boosted by PointsBet Sportsbook.

Manchester City vs Everton (Sunday, 9 a.m. ET)

Three-way Moneyline: Manchester City (-700) | Draw (+700) | Everton (+1600)

Phil Foden Over 2.5 Shots & Man City to win (Boosted from -115) (+105)

Listen, we could call this a Phil Foden praise piece, or we can just realize when there’s value we must take it. The oddsmakers at PointsBet Sportbook heard our requests and have boosted Foden over 2.5 shots and City to win from -115 to +105. Shot propositions are fun, but also stressful. There are times when a player might intend to cross the ball, but it comes off more as a shot and it gets counted as so. There are also times when a shot was intended, and the player might not have had much power on the shot, and it doesn’t get counted at all. It’s based on the judgement of the statistician. Which is why it’s important to find a player who will be in a role to have multiple opportunities to shoot and against a team who will be absorbing more shots and pressure.

Pep Guardiola knows his club needs to rotate should they successfully navigate their upcoming busy schedule. European play mixed in with upcoming double matchday week’s; rest and rotation is important. Gabriel Jesus likely will be excluded from the starting XI due to strenuous travel. We could also see Kevin De Bruyne out after reporting that he had been playing through pain. Which would leave a midfield spot open, that will likely be occupied by Benardo Silva. Leaving Foden in the false nine position.

Foden has been a more integral part of the offense sense being placed in the false nine position. Over a span of the last six games where he’s played the nine spot, he has taken 13 shots. Much more than he’s taken when he slotted on the wings. De Bruyne is a volume shooter who likes to be involved in the offense. He’s averaging well over 2.5 shots per 90 minutes. That’s shot volume that will likely go towards Foden.

Everton have absorbed a lot of pressure from the middle of the pitch. Over 55% of the shots taken against them come from the middle. They are allowing 14 shots per game and have allowed 21, 15, and 16 shots in the three matches they have played against Manchester City this season.

At -275 Foden’s shot prop is not worth mentioning. However, since it has been parlayed and boosted with Manchester City moneyline, it becomes a must play. The last time City have not defeated Everton was back in 2017. City have won eight consecutive matches against the Toffees. Take Phil Foden Over 2.5 Shots & Man City to win (Boosted from -115) (+105).
