Dota 2 Roster News: Alliance Reveals New Roster as OG is Down to One Player

Ready for the new season.
Ready for the new season. Alliance

Last month, Dota 2 team Alliance had to deal with the fact that they were down to two members. Instead of having an entirely new roster, they decided to rebuild around the remaining players. The team not only added three new players but also brought in a new coach and even a substitute player.

Joining Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov and Simon “Handsken” Rasmus Haag are:

  • Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha
    • Last Team: Chicken Fighters
  • Rodrigo “Leslão” Santos
    • Last Team: Quincy Crew
  • Adam “Aramis” Moroz
    • Last Team: Vikin.gg

In a statement, CEO Jonathan “Loda” Berg revealed that they wanted to rebuild from the bottom up for the upcoming season. While the organization kept the core, it also wanted something fresh and new. Handsken returns to position 5 because it’s a natural step. Berg added that they’re excited to see how this new roster performs in the coming season.

Handsken pretty much shared the same sentiment adding that they continue to work hard to improve their game.

Other Additions

The three new players aren’t the only thing Alliance added to the team. Serving as the new coach is Niklas okcya” Koskinen. His coaching career started in 2018 with Vega Squadron and the latest being Chicken Fingers.

The surprise decision though would have to be the new substitute player. It’s none other than Henrik “AdmiralBulldog” Ahnberg. He was part of the Alliance roster that lifted the Aegis during The International 2013.

From Godson to Dadson

Alliance may be ready for the new season but another Western Europe team may need to scramble to look for new members or possibly drop out. OG announced that Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen is taking a break from the competitive scene. This means Johan “N0tail” Sundstein is left all by his lonesome.

In a post, OG shared that Topson sat down with the team and revealed that his motivation in competing had been dwindling. Topson said that he wanted to take a season off to spend some time with his wife and kid. He had been away from his family for more than six months due to the boot camp and competition. It also seems that Topson wants to enjoy playing Dota 2 for fun while streaming.

So what is N0tail going to do now?
