Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance

A Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance free DLC, 'The Crystal Wraiths', has just dropped. It adds a new map called 'The Crystal Wraiths', which includes three acts and new cinematics, lore items, bosses, and a new in-game trophy for those of you who like hunting them down. The Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance free DLC also comes with a pretty hefty patch that changes the balance of the game, fixes some bugs, AI, audio, and more.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance has had a fairly rough go of it since its announcement. Its first trailer was one of the worst initial announcements I've ever seen, and it didn't get much better from there. While our own review gave the game a decent 6.5/10 score, the game itself has received a mixed to negative reception, with most wondering why we didn't get a remake of the original beloved games from the early 2000's.

Still, this latest incarnation in the Dark Alliance franchise has received support from the start, with a roadmap revealed and numerous patches having been sent out. Let's talk about the latest one, shall we?

What else is in the Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance free DLC?

Balance has been given a tuning, with abilities such as Kelvin's Pillar of Ice attack and Akar Kessell's Meteor Swarm having had their damage increased. Loot chances have also been increased across all difficulties, and the chance of per-Act preferred sets has increased from 20 to 33%.

Bug fixes include fixing an issue where loot couldn't be picked up sometimes after opening a Large Chest in a multiplayer session. Players can also now no longer get tethered behind magic barriers and consumables can no longer be used during loading screens. Loot can also be picked up from enemies, as before there was an issue that made players unable to do so occasionally.

In some encounters, the AI was borked, as enemies would only react if the player character was very close to them. Missing barks and banter lines have been added, mistranslations have been fixed, as have crashes that occurred after receiving an inactivity prompt in a map or just crashes on the Xbox One in general.

These are fairly large fixes and changes, and it only scratches the surface of the new Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance free DLC patch. Be sure to check it out here and stay tuned to TechRaptor for more information.
