A Juniata woman has died following a crash in Wyoming Wednesday night.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, officers responded to a crash around 10 p.m. on Highway 85 south of Hawk Springs, Wyoming.
WHP said a 2005 Ford Taurus was stopped on Highway 85 with the vehicle's left turn signal activated as the driver, Korey Bowers, 18, of Canada, attempted to turn onto Highway 313. A northbound 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by Conan Ferguson, 49, of Briggsdale, Colorado, attempted to pass by the Ford on the right shoulder, when Bowers decided to turn right.
The Volvo collided with the side of the Ford, causing the Ford to overturn.
Bowers was wearing a seatbelt and transported by ambulance to the Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyoming, where he later succumbed to injuries from the crash.
The passenger has been identified as Emma Nelson, 19, of Juniata. Nelson was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to injuries sustained at the scene of the crash.
Ferguson and his passenger, Manos Zouridakis, 29, of Longmont, Colorado, were not injured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
