The Resort hotels at Walt Disney World have undergone a lot of changes recently!
We’ve seen room makeovers, new restaurants, and a lot of resorts reopening.
It’s hard to keep up with everything, so we’re telling you about the hotels that completely changed this year at Disney World.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The Contemporary has had a LOT of things change recently! For starters, the rooms received makeovers themed to The Incredibles.
They have a whole new look to them. They’re themed, but still maintain their mid-century modern aesthetic.
And it wasn’t just the guest rooms that got a fresh new look! The theming starts in the hallways!
The lobby of the hotel also got a fresh new look.
Another big change at the Contemporary is the new restaurant, Steakhouse 71. This replaced The Wave in the hotel’s lobby and is themed after the year Disney World and the Contemporary both opened — 1971.
They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a bar and lounge you can hang out in.
We’ve tried the food here, and it’s pretty great (it’s even become one of AllEars Molly’s favorite restaurants in all of Walt Disney World!)! Check it out next time you’re over near the Contemporary.
It makes sense that the hotel received a bunch of upgrades — it is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Just like the Contemporary, the Polynesian is also celebrating it’s 50th birthday! The hotel’s rooms recently got a Disney-themed makeover as well but themed to a different movie — Moana!
The rooms have all new decor inspired by the movie with a Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette that Disney has said should evoke “undulating ocean waves and tropical flowers.”
There is also artwork featuring the characters! The overall look is a different take on Polynesian decor.
In addition to the rooms, the monorail station and entrance to the hotel have both been re-done, too.
They both now have a new look with colorful panels.
Head on over to the Polynesian to see the new updates!

Disney’s All Star Sports Resort
What’s completely changed about All Star Sports this year is that it’s closed.
The hotel was supposed to reopen in December of 2021, but that has been delayed so that Disney can “refresh the Sports theme area.”
And opening date will be announced at a later time.

Disney’s All Star Music Resort
All Star Music has reopened, but it is undergoing a major renovation right now. Some of the rooms have already been updated, but the last time we visited the hotel, two buildings were completely gutted.
A Cast Member also told us that they were working on redoing the family suites as well. You can see a renovated famiy suite here!

Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Old Key West underwent renovations this summer with the closure of the den area near the lobby, then moved to working on the lobby.
Now completed, the lobby looks completely different! There is a new blue color palette giving us all the beachy vibes.
It features an “enhanced check-in experience offering an open, free-flowing layout with a variety of smaller counters.”
There are also new sitting areas that tie in with the new look.
A much needed update for an underrated Disney World resort!

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Another resort that’s having renovations done is Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort!
Three phases of renovations are happening: first on the hallway connecting to the main lobby, next on the port cochere, and finally on the main lobby.
We can’t wait to see how the renovations turn out, but be aware that the hotel is in the middle of construction!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
When Wilderness Lodge reopened in June, the rooms had received a makeover!
The beds have a completely different look, and the rooms have a new color palette overall.
There’s also laminate floors in the rooms now instead of carpet.
And there’s new furniture that gives the rooms a more up-to-date appearance.
And the lighter tones overall make the rooms feel bigger and brighter!
