According to MotorTrend, the Nissan Ariya’s dual-motor version makes a whopping 389 horsepower. The single-motor version makes 238 horsepower. The Ariya is powerful, but how does it match up against the current most exciting electric SUV model?
The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E drives like a muscle car
The Ford Mustang Mach-E may be an SUV, but it certainly drives like a muscle car. The electric SUV is known for its quickness and style. The Mach-E is a prime example of a capable electric vehicle. Ford electrified its muscle car nameplate and maintained its key values.

The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select gets 230 miles of range. The Premium trim gets 300 miles of Range. The California Route 1 trim gets 305 miles of range, and the GT gets 270 miles of range.
2023 Nissan Ariya vs. 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E:
The 2023 Nissan Ariya starts at around $47,000. Its price after tax incentives should be around $39,500. The Ford Mustang Mach-E starts at $42,895. After federal electric vehicle tax incentives, the Mach-E SUV will start at around $35,395.
The Mach-E base model is the more affordable choice. The Nissan Ariya will have 35 more miles of range but slightly less horsepower. The Nissan Ariya is shaping up to be an interesting electric SUV, but chances are it won’t be as exciting as the Mustang Mach-E. The Nissan Ariya may not be as competitive as the Japanese automaker hopes.
