F1 star Lewis Hamilton makes a worrisome comment on his pace ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix, which can hurt his chances of bagging an eighth championship.

Currently, F1 drivers are figuring out the Losail International Circuit of Qatar's inaugural Grand Prix through the practice sessions. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen dominated the practice sessions, leaving Hamilton only in fourth after the second session— also behind his teammate, Valtteri Bottas.

Given the intense championship race of Hamilton and Verstappen, it's all or nothing for the British star, as he aims to pull closer with just three races left.

“I don't even know how big the gap is. But I'm off, so I'm definitely not close,” a noticeably downbeat Hamilton said after the day's action.

“Driving-wise, it's OK, it's all high-speed corners so it's definitely physical, but then the tracks quite nice.”

Hamilton voiced his concerns about his car while also picking up some minor front-end damage from hitting the curbs.

“No real issues and yeah, there's a little bit of damage just from riding kerbs, but nothing too serious, hopefully,” Hamilton said.

“I'm a little bit slow. So I need to figure that out.”

As F1 fans await a stunning finish to this season, Hamilton and Verstappen gear up for a cardiac conclusion to their classic battle. Will the dutchman garner his first F1 title, or will the British legend achieve dominance by winning his eighth?
