Apple TV+ has released the trailer for new mystery-comedy series, “The Afterparty,” starring Tiffany Haddish.

The eight-episode first season, which premieres in January 2022, will first kick off with three episodes. After that, an episode will drop every Friday.

The Apple + synopsis describes the series as “a genre-defying series centered on a murder mystery at a high school reunion. Each episode explores a different character’s account of the fateful evening in question, all through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective.”

It will premiere Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.

In addition to Haddish’s appearance, the lineup for the series is nothing short of impressive. Sam Richardson (Veep), Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project), Ben Schwartz (House of Lies), Ilana Glazer (Broad City), Dave Franco (Scrubs), John Early (Search Party), Jamie Demetriou (Fleabag) and Zoë Chao (Love Life) also star.

In a July interview with NPR, Haddish explained why she’s always booked and busy.

“I was scared to be like, I want to give people jobs, I want to see us working, I want to see our stories,” she said at the time. “[They] try to put this idea in your mind that the white man upstairs, the man upstairs is gonna block you, he’s gonna keep you … and what I realized is there’s nobody blocking you but you.”

She also shared her career goal is to make 80 films by the time she turns 50-years-old. “[That] will create a lot of jobs for people. Every time you make a movie, the smallest crew could be 50, and the largest crew could be 500 people. That’s, how many jobs are you creating? How much generational wealth are you creating when you get to tell and give other people the opportunity to tell that story with you?”
