An exciting new event has taken over Pokémon Sword & Shield. In the Wild Area, trainers will now get chance to catch Eevee, its evolutions and—if you're lucky—you could even capture Shiny Eevee! Here's all you need to know about the Eevee and Friends event and how it could shake up your Max Raid encounters in the coming week.

Pokémon Sword & Shield has benefitted from a number of expansions and downloadable content (DLC) since its release in 2019. Upon completing—or even during—the Galar region adventure, many players stay true to the mantra of catching 'em all. Whether filling up the Pokédex or diversifying one's Shiny collection for bragging rights, exclusive events are the way to go for increased chances of encountering that elusive Pokémon.

Pokémon Sword and Shield Eevee and Friends Max Raid Event

Eevee and Friends is a limited time event arriving in Sword and Shield from November 19 to 28, 2021. For just these seven days, players can head to Raid Dens all over Galar and potentially catch any and all of Eevee's evolutions as well as Shiny Eevee. Yes, that's right, you could complete your Eevee collection in just one swoop. So stock up on your Pokéballs and let's get Eevee hunting!

Shiny Eevee will have a 2% encounter rate, which is already higher than the normal Shiny chances. Still, best prepare to spend some time—or bank on your luck stars so you can make the most of this rare event. Meanwhile, you can also catch (non-shiny) Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Leafeon, and Sylveon—each with an 11% encounter rate, according to Serebii.

Gigantamax Eevee will also be available with a rarity of 5%, so you ought to bring your toughest soldiers to take it down. Max Raid Battles have provided an added layer of challenge to the game, but luckily trainers can work together in a team of four to defeat these strong Pokémon.

Players can hope to encounter Shiny Eevee and the rare, fan-favorite evolutions at the Wild Area. But if you obtained DLC locations like the Crown Tundra and Isle of Armor, you can also try your luck at Raid Dens scattered in those locations. Remember that the Eevee and Friends event lasts for seven days (which is actually longer than the typical Max Raid events), so you should take advantage of the boosted odds while you can to add Shiny Eevee to your Sword & Shield collection.
