The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that a car found parked along HWY 101 in Leggett belongs to a missing Texas man.
Zachary Manuel Velasquez was reportedly last seen on Oct. 12 at his home in Austin, TX. The Austin Police Department says he is considered missing.
The MCSO says Velasquez' car was found parked along HWY 101 at Mile Post Marker 86.75 in Leggett.
As a result, the Mendocino County Search & Rescue Team searched an area near the marked vehicle on Wednesday to try and locate Velasquez or any evidence of where he may be. The MCSO said Thursday that the search was unsuccessful.
Officials said a check of local public safety agencies and hospitals showed no contacts with Velasquez.
Velasquez is described by officials as a 30-year-old white male, standing 5'4", weighing 150 pounds with short black hair, short black goatee and brown eyes.
