Since its initial release in 2015, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has added dozens of familiar characters to its roster. While players can now typically unlock these characters fairly easily the more they level up, it takes some extra time and patience to promote these new characters to their highest potential.

There is a healthy mix of canon and legends characters to choose from in the free-to-play mobile game, with new options added monthly. Dash Rendar, a fan-favorite Star Wars Legends smuggler, is the latest to join the holotables.

According to the official Galaxy of Heroes forums, “In Legends, Dash Rendar is a mercenary who helped out the Rebellion when Han Solo was trapped in carbonite (the time between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi).

Like many characters who were prominent in Star Wars legends, Dash has also appeared in Star Wars canon, though he hasn’t had nearly as many canon appearances as he previously had in the books. Still, he’s the latest addition to the Scoundrel category in the game, joining the likes of Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian and more.

To unlock Dash, players must choose the Shadows of the Empire event at the Events table. You must have Qi’ra, Young Han Solo, Young Lando Calrissian, and Vandor Chewbacca unlocked to complete the first tier of the event and unlock Dash with 1-star abilities.

Other characters required to complete higher tiers of the event (to gain more shards for more stars) include Chewbacca, Hoth Rebel Solider and Scout, Captain Han Solo, Rebel Officer Leia, and C-3PO. You can complete all tiers with these characters, but the bonus tiers require more Dash shards.

At the moment, these can only be obtained through packs or bundles, purchasable in-game with crystals or real-world currency.

New characters are being added to the game frequently, so make sure you’re following along to keep up with new updates!
