De La Salle water polo star Carsten Peters received 38.78% of the vote by the deadline at 5 p.m. Wednesday to claim Bay Area News Group boys high school athlete of the week honors for Nov. 8-14.

Menlo-Atherton quarterback Matt MacLeod (33.34%) placed second and Carlmont cross country runner Aidan Dimick (16.15%) finished third.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Peters led De La Salle to the North Coast Section Open Division championship with six goals, two steals, one assist, three exclusions drawn and a penalty shot drawn as the Spartans defeated Miramonte 15-12 in the final. Peters finished with 16 goals in the tournament.
