Kristen Stewart has received rave reviews for her performance as Princess Diana in Spencer, but her reaction to them might surprise you.

The new film, which was released in UK cinemas on 5 November, tells the story of a very specific weekend in the Royal family's life. As the official synopsis explains, "December, 1991: The Prince and Princess of Wales' marriage has long since grown cold.

"Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There's eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. This year, things will be a whole lot different."

The 31-year-old's performance as Diana has received critical acclaim, with viewers taking to social media to suggest it's Oscar nomination-worthy. "Kristen Stewart is coming for all of the awards," one person wrote. Another put, "All 12 film critics have Kristen as No.1 to win the Best Actress Oscar for #Spencer"

So, what does she think of all the Academy Award hype? Er, it's safe to say she's not particularly bothered.

"I don't give a s**t," Kristen told Variety. "The Oscars are such a funny thing. There are so many incredible movies and performances that barely get seen. It definitely says something about where we’re at as a cumulative presence – what we’re looking at, what we care about."

She continued, "I really appreciate that something that I was involved in, has ignited such a large conversation. We don’t make movies to not connect with each other. It's not every day you're a part of projects that are so aptly scrutinised."
