Thursday basketball results include wins for Norfork, Melbourne girls

In high school basketball in the area Thursday night, in boys’ action, Lead Hill topped Ozark Mountain 52-46 in overtime at the Arvest Bank Tournament at Flippin. Mason Cain led the Tigers with 18 points, and Cody Paul scored 12. For Ozark Mountain, Aiden Fletcher had 15.

Mammoth Spring picked up a 70-61 win at Crowleys Ridge Academy. Gavin Boddie led a quartet of Bears in double figures with 23 points, Andrew Jones scored 16, and Brayden Cray and Nate Rogers each had 14 points, as Mammoth Spring improves to 4-5 on the season.

In other action, Flippin lost to Valley Springs 53-48, and Harrison squeaked by Subiaco Academy 54-52.

In girls’ action, Norfork was a 44-38 winner over Clinton, Melbourne won their big showdown with Jonesboro 51-35, Ozark Mountain edged past Kingston 80-78, and Yellville-Summit topped Lead Hill 54-37.
