It's been a rough evening for the Atlanta Falcons as they've struggled against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. New England is dominating nearly every facet of the game, while Atlanta tries their best to stay within reach. To make matters worse though, Matt Ryan is currently dealing with an injury.

According to Mike Giardi, “Matt Ryan is definitely favoring that right foot.” The Falcons' quarterback hobbled his foot early on in the game. There was a brief moment where Ryan nearly came off the field, as Josh Rosen was seen warming up on the sideline.

Alas, Matt Ryan refused to miss any time and was back on the field for the next drive. It's painfully obvious he's having issues with his foot though, as Ryan doesn't look fluid in the pocket at all. The Falcons have to get creative, as he is not a mobile quarterback by any means.

With Atlanta still in reach of this contest, the Falcons are likely to keep Matt Ryan in for the remainder of the game. Even so, it's possible his hurt foot is altering his throwing routine, making it difficult to complete passes.

We'll see how this one plays out. The Falcons aim to finally put points on the board late in the third quarter. If they can manage that, Atlanta will suddenly make this a ball game. Look for head coach Arthur Smith to get aggressive with his playcalling, as the Falcons need to light a fire underneath themselves to get back into this game.
