SARASOTA, FL — The clatter, commotion and all-around tight spaces in the kitchen are nothing new to Bob Horne.

“I learn things very easily. I have an excess of around 21 licenses to do things," Horne said as he cooked up a Brie and Jelly Grilled Cheese in the small kitchen of his unique Sarasota restaurant.

Over his nearly 80 years, he's held many roles — Navy veteran, retired salesman, cooking school instructor, just to name a few. Now in his retirement, he's a chef on board something a spot you wouldn't typically find a restaurant.

The kitchen and everything else Bob has created are all on board the aptly named Bob's Train. Four unique train cars that he rescued and rehabbed, restoring these original Ringling Brothers train cars and turning them into a restaurant and museum.

The memorabilia on board close to Bob's heart as he was a ringmaster and performer in various circuses during his younger years.

Giving this spot a sentimental touch for Bob and keeping circus memories alive through good food and stories of circus days gone by.

Bob's Train is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily but they are closed on Saturdays.
