Party Princesses CNY to host holiday dress giveaway for kids

A CNY nonprofit is looking to insure that everyone can look and feel their best this holiday season, without having to stress about the expense.

Party Princesses CNY is offering free dresses for kids at an event this weekend at 366 Grant Boulevard in Syracuse. The nonprofit has sizes from newborn to 16, as well as some shoes and sweaters to choose from.

There are almost 800 dresses ready for kids to pick out. Party Princesses has already gotten at least 350 requests for this holiday event.

“I had no idea how rewarding it would be just to see the people get excited, the messages I get from the parents on our Facebook page, there’s pictures, parents will put pictures of their daughters,” said Kym Servello-Gardner, founder of Party Princesses CNY.

Typically, the group gives away birthday dresses to children, including extras like jewelry and tiaras. Party Princesses CNY has already given away around 400 birthday dresses. This is the first time the group has held a holiday dress event open to the public.

Santa will be present, and there will be hot chocolate available for dress “shoppers.”

You have to register online ahead of time for this weekend’s event to get in; bring your child with you and wear a mask. Party Princesses held an event like this for the return to school, and plans to hold another event like this next year for spring dresses.
