Arsenal will be boosted ahead of their Premier League trip to Liverpool on Saturday, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back training with the first-team.

There were scares over the fitness of the 32-year-old after he was taken off on a stretcher in Gabon's win over Libya last Friday.

The Gabon FA then confirmed he would play no further role for them during the break, ensuring he would return to the Emirates Stadium early.

There had been doubts over the forward's fitness after returning from international duty

Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game for his side from the penalty spot before his departure, but Gabon were still eliminated from the World Cup qualifiers following Egypt's draw at Angola.

Gabon's final group match was against Egypt but with the game being a dead rubber, Aubameyang was allowed to return back to London.

Fears had already subsided over a potential injury when he was seen dancing on an Instagram live stream shortly after the game.

The striker returned to full training with his Arsenal team-mates on Wednesday and boss Mikel Arteta will now have little hesitation to call upon the striker for the crunch clash with Liverpool.

But Gunners manager Mikel Arteta will have Aubameyang available at Anfield after he returned to full training with his team-mates on Wednesday

Just two points separate the teams ahead of the Anfield meeting with the Gunners looking to protect a 10-match unbeaten run.

Arsenal though do still have doubts over Thomas Partey's fitness as he appears to still be struggling with the groin injury that caused him to miss their last outing with Watford.

Liverpool also have injury concerns ahead of the Premier League encounter with Andy Robertson picking up a hamstring injury in Scotland's World Cup qualifying victory over Denmark.

However, Jurgen Klopp's side also have a boost with Sadio Mane successfully returning to training on Tuesday.

Liverpool were given a significant boost on Tuesday when Sadio Mane returned to training

The 29-year-old was a doubt after suffering a rib injury on international duty with Senegal, and was substituted in the 28th minute of their match against Togo in African qualifying for the 2022 World Cup on Thursday.

The former Southampton forward then returned to Liverpool following X-rays to determine the extent of the damage, with Jurgen Klopp fretting on the fitness of a key forward.

But Mane was pictured in training with his Reds team-mates at Kirkby on Tuesday morning, and did not show any ill effects from the blow he had suffered when away with his country.
