A New Hampshire man is facing up to a year and a half in prison for his part in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Jason Riddle, 32, of Keene, pleaded guilty Thursday to theft of government property and unlawful parading or picketing.
Riddle admitted that on Jan. 6, he illegally entered the U.S. Capitol after crossing a police barricade. He also admitted to taking and drinking a bottle of wine, as well as stealing a Senate procedure book and selling it online for $40.
The judge cited the value of that book at $254.
Riddle faces a maximum of one year in prison for theft of government property and up to six months for marching into the Capitol. He also faces potential fines in excess of $9,500.
Riddle was arrested by the FBI in February. According to court documents, agents began investigating him after he was seen in a television interview describing what happened at the Capitol and saying he had no regrets about going inside.
Riddle is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 17 in federal court.
