The LA Angels would love to have a player of Freddie Freeman's caliber on their roster.

They already have a couple, but there's an issue with that. They already have an All-Star first baseman in Jared Walsh.

Robert Murray, FanSided National Baseball Insider, however, sees the Angels as a potential fit for the all-world first baseman.

The LA Angels would have a scary lineup if Freddie Freeman was added to the roster.

There is a way that the LA Angels could start both Freddie Freeman and Jared Walsh on the field together.

The Angels would obviously have Freeman take first as he's the better, all-time great player. But remember, Walsh is not only a great defensive player at first base, but in the outfield as well. Heck, he won the All-Star Game for the American League due to his defense in the outfield.

In that case, it would appear that the Angels would start Mike Trout in center, and Brandon Marsh and Walsh in the corner spots. That is, unless the Angels want to start Justin Upton over Marsh due to his expensive contract. For what it's worth, Angels Manager Joe Maddon has been very supportive of Upton in the past.

They could potentially start Jo Adell in place of Marsh as well, but Marsh is probably the better player as of this moment. And the Angels can still have Adell stay up in the Big Leagues even if he's not starting. That was a possibility either way.

If Marsh, Adell, or Upton are traded (and those three have been the subject of trade speculation lately), then the move to acquire Freeman makes even more sense.

Next. The Angels are in on EVERYONE this offseason. dark

At the surface, acquiring Freeman looks like the Angels would just be stacking up at positions they don't need. There is, however, a universe where Freeman could come in and give the Angels elite play while the Angels would not be too heavy at any given position. They'd likely need to make a trade, or potentially move one of our younger outfielders down to the Minors, but there's a reason Murray sees Freeman as a fit with the Halos.
