Developed and published by MiHoYo, Genshin Impact has been out for about a year now and it’s still maintained its position as one of the most popular mobile games on the market. It’s received pretty consistent updates over the past year and we’ve seen a whole slew of new characters get added to the roster as well, with more ascension materials for you to grind for them. Here’s how to get and use Fluorescent Fungus in Genshin Impact.
Getting Fluorescent Fungus in Genshin Impact
Fluorescent Fungus is one of the new resources you can farm in Genshin Impact with the new update, and as you might’ve already guessed, it can only be obtained in the Inazuma region. More specifically, it can be found all over Tsurumi Island in the southwest corner of the map.
Head over to the island and you shouldn’t have much trouble finding them as they glow, making them easy to spot. We’ve indicated their location in the screenshot down below, courtesy of the folks working on the Genshin Impact Interactive Map.
One thing to note is that Tsurumi Island isn’t available for exploration right off the bat. You’ll need to complete the series of world quests titled Through the Mists. You can start it as soon as you’ve unlocked Inazuma region; just speak with Katheryne in Inazuma City, and she’ll get you started on the quest.
What It’s Used For
As we’ve already alluded earlier in the article, Fluorescent Fungus is as ascension material in Genshin Impact. At the time of writing, it’s not used in any cooking recipes so you won’t need to worry about collecting it unless you’re planning on leveling up Thoma.
Thoma is the new 4-star Pyro character that recently got added to the roster, and he’s the only one who needs the Fungus to ascend. This is essential as you’ll need to ascend him to increase his level cap and unlock his full potential. If you don’t have him or don’t plan on using him, you don’t have to bother collecting the Fungus at all.
