After admitting to stealing over $450,000 from Church on The Rock in Lubbock, a woman was sentenced to 5 and a half years in prison for embezzlement.

KAMC News reports that Lisa Dawn Stabeno began working for the church in 2013, and after becoming the accounting manager, used church credit cards to pay for things like medical and dental expenses, clothes, salon services, meals and vacations. Some of the vacations included Disney Land, LEGOLAND, Six Flags Over Texas and Las Vegas.

It's also said that at times, Stabeno used church credit cards to pay medical debts for family members, pay rent for family members and make car loan payments. Court records said that Stabeno's actions resulted in the church having to terminate employees, seek donations from parishioners and obtain a bank loan.

This isn't the first time she's been accused of stealing money from an establishment. The Aspen Times reported back in 2011 that Lisa Dawn Mack turned herself into authorities in Colorado after being accused of stealing around $226,000 from a hospital. She was believed to have used many aliases over time, including Lisa Dawn Crow, Lisa Dawn Forrest, Lisa Stanford Forrest, Lisa Stambeno, Lisa Dawn Stanford and Lisa Dawn Stabeno. She was ordered to serve 50 days in jail.

Stabeno apologized during her most recent sentencing hearing, but US District Court Judge James Wesley Hendrix said:

Talk is very cheap at this point [...] You were trusted with accounts and misappropriated funds. You did it again, and again and again.

Stabeno has also been ordered to pay back $450,000 to the church. She has been ordered to surrender herself on December 30th, 2021.
