Lamar Jackson did not participate in Ravens practice for the second straight day. According to Ravens beat reporter for The Athletic Jeff Zrebiec, his lack of participation is due to an “illness.”

Multiple teams have played games this season without their star quarterbacks due to COVID-19. This includes Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger.

But Ravens fans shouldn't be too worried yet. Of course, it's never a good sign seeing your star quarterback sitting out of practice two days in a row. But, The Baltimore Sun reports that the illness Jackson is dealing with is non-COVID-19-related.

It sounds like there is a good chance Jackson could be back on the field to practice Friday. The Sun's Jonas Shaffer added that offensive coordinator Greg Roman told him that Jackson was feeling better on Thursday. If all goes well, he will be back on the field to get reps in on Friday prior to the Ravens' away matchup against the Chicago Bears.

This isn't the first time this season that the Ravens star quarterback has sat out in practices for illnesses. Shaffer recalled the fact that he sat out in one practice before Week 3 and one before Week 6. He played in both of these games tacking two wins to his resume against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Detroit Lions.
