ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, an Ohio State alum, provided some early comments about the rivalry showdown during Thursday’s College GameDay teleconference. The analyst is hopeful that both teams win this weekend in order for the contest to have the maximum stakes:

This weekend, Ohio State faces visiting No. 7 Michigan State and Michigan travels to Maryland. Michigan will host Ohio State on Nov. 27 (12 p.m. EST/FOX).

The 9-1 Buckeyes are first place in the B1G East. The 9-1 Wolverines are second place in the division behind Ohio State. Michigan leads the all-time series 58-51-6 but Ohio State is on an eight-game winning streak in the series. The Wolverines’ last victory vs. the Buckeyes came in 2011.
