It's been an up-and-down season for the Cleveland Browns. They are arguably the most underachieving NFL team this season. They started the season with a stacked offense just like last year, with Baker Mayfield under center and the pair of Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. as main targets plus the duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt as a scary running back duo.

But the Browns are only 5-5 through 10 weeks of the season, as they struggle to put up consistent offensive performances weekly. Mayfield recognizes the team's shortcomings on that end of the field, but also sounded confident that Cleveland will finally get it together.

Via Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal:

“We don't need to reinvent the wheel. Yeah, changes need to be made, but … there's plays to be made that we haven't [made]. That's where we're at right now. It's not where we have to sit down and do everything completely different. We need to be able to execute and put the ball in our playmakers' hands and let them go to work.”

So far this season, the Browns are 18th in the NFL with just 23.1 points per game. Their problem largely lies in their inability to convert third downs and complete passes. The Browns have become so reliant on their ground attack, and that was mightily exposed of late, with Hunt and Chubb suffering injuries.

Nevertheless, the Browns can pick up enough steam towards the home stretch of the regular season, beginning with a home game in Week 11 against the winless Detroit Lions.
