All Rhode Island Adults Eligible For Coronavirus Booster Vaccine

November 18, 2021

Anyone who is an adult in Rhode Island is now eligible for a coronavirus booster shot.

Rhode Island state officials made the decision on Tuesday, November 16,  according to WJAR. It comes at a time when the federal Food and Drug Administration has not yet authorized booster shots for emergency use for adults for the Pfizer vaccine; it has authorized them for the other two vaccines used in the United States:  Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.

In Rhode Island, 92.6 percent of adults are at least partially vaccinated against coronavirus while 84.1 percent are fully vaccinated.

In Massachusetts, all senior citizens are eligible for the booster vaccine and all adults with severe health problems are eligible, according to the state’s web site.
