Warner Bros. Free-to-Play Crossover Fighting Game MultiVersus Announced; Launches 2022

Warner Bros. Games have announced free-to-play crossover 2 vs. 2 platform fighter MultiVersus; featuring Looney Tunes, DC Comics, and more.

MultiVersus will be free-to-play and launches 2022 on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will support full cross-play support, dedicated server-based rollback netcode, and seasonal content. Pre-registration for playtests is available now.


As previously rumored and confirmed in the press release (via email), the game sees many of Warner Bros. cartoons and more duking it out. These include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Shaggy, Bugs, Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Jake the Dog and Finn the Human, Steven Universe, and Garnet. There’s also an “extraordinary original creature” dubbed the Reindog. All with multiple costumes.

There is also Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, and Gandalf from Lord of the Rings was previously rumored. Many more characters are promised to join the fray. Characters will also have customizable movesets, promising to have synergies with allies in 2 vs. 2 matches. The game will also support 1 vs. 1 and 4-player free-for-all modes.
