"Wait Till You See It," Toyota Teases Us With A New Prius

A "new direction" is what Toyota is aiming for with Prius. The question is what does that mean? Here is what we know.

2022 will be the start of a wild revolution for Toyota vehicles. Toyota has already announced that their entire vehicle lineup will have a hybrid variant and even more.

The 2022 Prius will have some new technology that will change everything about hybrids and keep Toyota on their path.

Rumored New Features For the 2022 Toyota Prius
The powertrain is not new; however, some improvements are underway that are surprising even to me. The 1.8L is staying more than likely, but rumor has it that Toyota will now have a hydrogen internal combustion engine option.

I find this incredibly surprising. The Mirai already has problems with fueling and the infrastructure, so I think the hydrogen variant will be further down the road.

Another rumor I have heard is that Prime models will have a larger (or better) battery pack. I think it could be the first edition solid-state or a more significant kWh lithium.

Conclusion
While little is actually known about the new Prius, Toyota has not been quiet about all they plan to roll out with in the next 5 to 10 years.

Between hydrogen and battery tech, Toyota will make the new Prius one for the books. That is all I know for now, but I hope to get more information on it soon.
