PHOENIX — Vegan eatery 24 Carrots Natural Café and Urban Juicery in Tempe will close in December after 13 years in business.
Owner and founder Sadhana Raj said in a press release on Tuesday the intention is to wind down her restaurant at 1701 E. Guadalupe Road by Dec. 10.
“Our landlord decided not to renew our lease at our current location for the next year; therefore we have no choice but to say goodbye to our beloved restaurant,” Raj said.
The restaurant will still host its annual vegan Thanksgiving menu and is planning to hold a goods and products liquidation sale at a time that hasn’t yet been determined.
Raj said she will help her team find positions with like-minded restaurants around the Valley and that much of the kitchen equipment would be donated to schools, culinary programs and other nonprofit organizations.
The future of a brick and mortar 24 Carrots is uncertain, Raj said, but she plans to remain involved in the food community.
