Professional basketball player releases 'Forever Friends'

Chris Cokley might be playing professional basketball overseas, but the Savannah native still giving back to his hometown.Cokley, a former star at Savannah High School and UAB, has written a new book called, "Forever Friends".The book is for children and is a heartwarming tale about friendship. “This book was written to help children understand that it does not matter the color of your skin or even if a person looks different," said Cokley.On Wednesday, Nate Shaffer of S² Sports Agency and representing the Chris Cokley Foundation, presented copies of the book to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire. The books will be given to children and families at the Ronald McDonald House in Savannah. "Forever Friends" will also be distributed to critically ill or injured children at the Children’s Hospital of Memorial Health Hospital.Billy Sorochak, CEO/Executive Director of Ronald McDonalds House Charities of the Coastal Empire, says the books are the first donation for a new hospitality cart program.
