The Sea Eagles have confirmed utility back Dylan Walker has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

Walker, 27, has played 163 NRL games, 101 with Manly since joining from South Sydney ahead of the 2016 season.

Coach Des Hasler said they were pleased to get a deal done with Walker.

"Dylan is a very experienced player. His re-signing was a high priority for us," Hasler said.

"The ability to be able to play several positions in the game today is vital and Dylan plays an extremely important role within the team."

Adding to the situation surrounding Walker's contract, the player is understood to have been holding out in getting his COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Walker has now opted to get the jab, although Manly didn't comment on the matter in their statement.

Walker, who was employed in a roving middle role off the bench for much of last season, said he was keen to be a part of a team with plenty of upside after making big strides in 2021.

"I’ve really enjoyed my time at Manly and the Club has been very supportive of me," Walker said.

"I can’t wait to return to training with my team-mates in the next few weeks to further build on the strong platform we laid this season.

"There is an air of excitement about what we can achieve next year."
